Register for Convention!

Dear Aspiring Nurses,

Can you believe the semester is almost over?  I hope it has been filled with personal growth, accomplishments, and memories for you.

On October 10th, College of Chapter Boards was held at Edgewood College.  Thank you to all who attended and made this annual event great.  I was especially thrilled to see so many attendees dressed up to participate in the 80’s theme.  This event brought SNA Chapter Boards from across the state together for a day of collaboration and education on how to make our SNA chapters the best they can be.  A special thank you to Edgewood College for accommodating us and allowing us to use their beautiful facility.  Also, a round of applause and thanks to the WSNA board who gave so much of their time into making this a successful event.

The 67th Annual Wisconsin Student Nurses’ Association Convention is just around the corner and I hope you are getting as excited as I am!  It will be held February 5-7, 2016 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  As you may already know, the convention theme is Mental Health: You are the Voice.  Mental health is quickly growing to be a widely discussed topic in our society as it touches many of us. With that being said, we are hoping you will join us at convention, because together we can raise awareness, prevent stigmatism, and educate on this critical and prominent topic.

Please visit our website for further convention information including scholarship and award applications.  Be sure to take a look, fill them out, and bring them with you to convention. Included in this edition of the STAT is a convention registration form.  You may also register online at our website.  Convention T-Shirts with our convention slogan will be available to purchase upon registration.  Just a reminder that NSNA members will receive a $40 discount on convention registration.  Also, as convention approaches, I hope many of you will begin to consider running for a WSNA Board of Directors position.

Lastly, as we begin to prepare for the last few days of the semester, I want to wish you luck on your finals.  The holiday season is almost upon us and I hope it will be a restful and relaxing time for you spent with family and friends.

Finish strong and I will see you next year at convention!
